Greetings for the month of May! I'm starting to
gear up for the busy summer season ahead. Like I mentioned
last month, come help us kickoff our summer at two special
events June 4 and 5. Saturday, June 4 will be my first
appearance with my band at Estabrook Park in Milwaukee.
We'll be there from 5:00-8:00 p.m. It's a great
family-friendly venue with good food and drink. If you're
not a beer connoisseur, be sure to check out there Point
root beer on tap - it's pretty good!
The next day Sunday, June 5,
we'll be playing our 21st year at St. Aloysius Parish.
Whether you've made it to all 21 or this will be your very
first, I look forward to seeing you there! We'll be doing
their Polka Mass again, as well. All the details are
available on the
Later in June, join us for our
second year at Luther Memorial Chapel in Shorewood for their
church picnic. We had a great time there last year with
their very welcoming congregation and guests. It's open to
the public, so I hope to see you there this year, as well!
And almost no summer would be
complete without our nearly annual stop in West Allis for
their Concert in the Park, this year on Thursday, June 30
(coincidentally, that would have been my Mom's 73rd
birthday). Join us there from 7:00-8:30 PM.
I recently decommissioned (a term my wife thinks should be
reserved for space shuttles) my 2003 Honda Odyssey with over
331,000 miles on it, which coincidentally is around the
distance from here to the moon. Time for something newer! I
got a 2014 Odyssey this time around just in time for my
summer travels. In June, I'll be driving to shows in
northern Wisconsin the first week; Indiana, Kentucky and
Georgia the second week; Minnesota the third week, and then
Iowa and Wisconsin the last week. I bought my van with just
over 6,500 miles on it and will likely need new tires by the
time the year is up. Whew! Get all the details regarding all
of my up coming Pint Size Polkas performances on the Events
Hope to see you at a library near you soon!
So last month I mentioned I'm working on a new
recording, and that a summer release was a good possibility.
Unfortunately, I don't think it will be ready to go before I
leave for the summer, but have high hopes for an early fall
release. Maybe even late summer. Don Hunjadi is working on
his sax, flute and clarinet parts now (maybe even trumpet,
too!). Be sure to join my Facebook page
here as I hope to post
another preview shortly. And stay tuned here for details of

That's all for this month. See you soon!
